Bill Clay age 64, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2024 surrounded by those he loved and celebrating life to the fullest.
Bill had a heart full of love and nothing made him happier than helping those he loved. He was a supportive and doting father, and fiercely loved by all his friends. Bill was a talented and well respected bench jeweler who helped many people celebrate life’s milestones through his work at Sara’s Jewelry. Bill was an excellent cook and showed his love by “filling the freezer” for family and friends with biscuits, jambalaya and prize winning chili. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and putting up a garden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Sara Clay.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Ashley Clay; brother, Robert “Ed” Clay (Cheri); a host of friends including special friends, Katie Perkins and Jay Overbay.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, May 14, 2024 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Fraziers’ Seaver-Brown Chapel, 237 East Main Street, Marion VA 24354. A celebration of Bill’s life will begin at 8 p.m. giving family and friends an opportunity to speak and honor Bill.
