Sugar Grove

SUGAR GROVE, Va.

Tommy Lee “Mountain Man” Miller age 58, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, Tenn.

This was wrote in first person, so that our dad could tell one last story. This is just a fraction of what this man’s life really was. Tonight, we are proud to be MILLER’s. With great eternal love – Worm, Sis, Little Bear.

In Tommy’s own words: “I want you to know about me! My name is Tommy Lee Miller also known as Mountain Man. I was born on November 1, 1964 in the mountains of North Carolina. Growing up I learned the value of helping people. I am an Eagle Scout and Scout Master, an EMT, a Firefighter, welder and musician. I was also Santa, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy. Last but NOT least I am a son, brother, father, grandfather, and a friend. I am a man that you can joke and laugh with; but also, a man that is feared and respected. I love to teach by instilling my wisdom to everyone around me. I am always willing to help someone in need, that’s why it’s my honor to save a life after I am gone. Thank you, for giving a piece of me the opportunity to live on.”

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Iva Lee Miller.

Tommy is survived by his significant other, Dee Dee Jones of Sugar Grove, Va.; daughter, Toshia Miller of Wytheville, Va.; sons, Justin Miller of Wytheville, Va. and Remington Miller (Shaina Creasy) of Lynchburg, Va.; brother, Ronnie Miller (Kelly) of Raphine, Va.; 3 grandchildren, Abigail Thompson, Liberty Thompson and Teagan Thompson; niece, Chloe Cline; nephews, Brett Miller and Christian Miller; two great-nephews; mother of his children, Peggy Sue Miller; special friends, Travis and Jill Testerman, Shrimp Wymer, and Jason Mullinax.
