Thomas "Tommy" Waters, III

Konnarock, Virginia

Mr. Thomas “Tommy” Waters, III age 77, a resident of the Konnarock Community passed away peacefully Friday, September 19, 2025 at Abingdon Health & Rehab after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Tommy was a 1966 graduate of Abingdon High School and was a Drill Sergeant in the Army Reserve.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Louise Blevins Waters; wife, Dianne Lester Waters; sister, Evelyn and brother-in-law, Jim Gregory.

Tom is survived by his sister, Sandra and brother-in-law, Hank Odem; several nieces, nephews and devoted friends.

Special thanks to the staff at Abingdon Health & Rehab for their care and devotion during his illness.

Honoring Tommy’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. A private celebration of Tom and Dianne’s lives will follow at a later date.
