The family of Thelma Dillman Romans would like to announce the passing of their precious mother who is now with her true love at Jesus’ feet. Thelma, 96, born on April 11, 1929 and passed away Friday, March 27, 2026 at Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion just shy of her 97th birthday.
Thelma was a seamstress for over 30 years when she worked at Harwood where she also worked in quality control. She was well known for her excellent cooking she could prepare for family and friends. The only thing she loved more than her family was her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Thelma was truly one of the kindest and sweetest person you could ever meet.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lemual Richard Romans Sr.; daughter, Peggy Sprinkle; son, Gary Romans; son-in-law, John Pickle; and also, her two brothers.
Thelma is survived by her daughters, Sherry Pickle and Janet Murphy and husband, Robert; sons, Lemuel R. Romans Jr. and wife, Angelia and Allen Romans; brother, Larry Dillman and wife, Linda; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
