Syble R. Norman age 93, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2024.

Syble was born in Atkins, Va. to the late Mack and Ella Norman. She graduated from Marion Senior High School in the class of 1949 and worked for 31 years at Roses as a cashier. She was also a caregiver for her family, taking care of anyone who needed her. Syble was a talented seamstress and enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting; and was especially talented in creating afghans. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Don Norman; sister, Lorene Anders; brother-in-law, Kenneth Plummer; nephews, Jerry Anders and Joe Don Norman; niece, Lisa Martindale; great-nieces, Misti Martindale, Michelle Wyatt and Lori Couch. 

Syble is survived by her sister, Anna Lee Plummer of Atkins, Va.; nephews, Reggie Plummer (Hope), David Anders, Mike Anders (Joan), and Larry Norman (Shawn Muncy); nieces, Peggy Freeman, Bonnie Webb (caregiver), Linda Harrington (Jimmy), Brenda Winters (Randy), and Tammy Wallick (Paul); great-nephew, Brett Martindale (Emily); special friends, Ernie and Carol Sullins, Nancy Noble and Roxie Creasy.

Family will receive friends Sunday, May 19, 2024 from 12 until 1 p.m. with services beginning at 1 p.m. at Fraziers’ Seaver-Brown Chapel. Graveside services will follow at Nicks Creek Community Cemetery, Mulberry Lane, Atkins, VA.
