Shirley Edwards

MARION, Va. 

Shirley Edwards age 61, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Va.

Shirley was a loving wife, mom, grandmaw, sister and friend. She adored her family, but she had no problem telling you how it is – especially if you started talking about Jeff Gordon. Shirley made many friends while she was working at Smyth County Community Hospital. When she wasn’t working, Shirley loved watching tv – her soaps – and she was not happy when they went off cable! She also loved westerns, wrestling and NASCAR. Shirley loved everybody and everybody loved her. She will be sadly missed.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Stacy; aunt, Judy Lollo; and uncle, Tom Neely.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 40 years, James Edwards, III; sons, Timothy Andrew Edwards and wife, Dreama and Joshua Russell Edwards and significant other, Michelle Cassell all of Marion, Va.; father, Dennis W. Stacy, Sr. and wife, Nancy; sisters, Susan Owens and husband, Jim and Marcia Hespenheide and husband, Steve, all of Cranberry, Penn.; brothers, Dennis W. Stacy, Jr. and wife, Virginia of Portersville, Penn. and Brian Stacy and Wife, Melody of Cranberry, Penn.; brothers-in-law, Ronnie Edwards and wife, Rita and Oliver Edwards; sisters-in-law, Carla Thomas and husband, Lee all of Marion, Va. and Loretta Chandler and husband, Johnny of Kingsport, Tenn.; grandson, Noah Jaden Duty of Marion, Va.; special aunt and uncle, Donna and Randy Newton of Portersville, Penn.; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 14, 2022 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with burial following in Rose Lawn Cemetery.
