MARION, Va.

Sandra “Sandy” Rouse Greer age 76, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion, Va.

Sandy was a loving wife, mom, sister, nanny, and friend. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. Sandy worked as a seamstress for many years with Walmart, and her own business. She loved to sew and had all the fabric and sewing machines to prove it. When she wasn’t working or with family, she enjoyed working in her garden with her flowers – and everything had to be planned around her stories. Sandy will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and June Rouse; and brother, Warren Ernest Rouse.

Sandy is survived by her husband of almost 57 years, Blaine T. Greer of Marion, Va.; daughter, Tracie Cox and husband, David of Rural Retreat, Va.; son, Eric Greer and wife, Angela of Morristown, Tenn.; sisters, Sherri Cline and husband, John of Marion, Va., Karen Jones and husband, Jimmy of Ivanhoe, Va., Patricia Amos and husband, Gene, Bonnie Haga and husband, Ralph, all of Marion, Va.; eight grandchildren, Robert, Connor, Tyler, Savannah, Caroline, Courtney, Emma and Colton; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Monday, February 20, 2023 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel, 237 East Main Street, Marion, Va. Funeral services will begin at 7 p.m. with Pastor Arnold Peters officiating. Burial will be private.
