MARION, Va.

Samuel Michael Horne, Jr., age 49, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022.

Michael loved cars – especially his 2006 red Corvette, and his Mustang. Michael enjoyed his work with District Three and making a positive difference in the lives of those he worked to help. He was a proud member of the U.S. Air Force and he served his country well. Michael loved his family, friends, living life and drag racing with his dad. Because of a tragic accident he left this world way too soon and he will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Michael Horne, Sr.

Michael is survived by his mother, Linda Boardwine Horne of Seven-Mile-Ford, Va.; special friends Paul Williams, Joe Simms and Billy Maiden.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 9, 202 at 3 p.m. at Blue Springs Cemetery, 168 Blue Springs Road, Rural Retreat, Va. 24368 with family, friends and U.S. Military speaking. Military Rites will be conducted by Francis Marion VFW Post #4667 and the U.S. Air Force Funeral Honors Guard. Family and friends are asked to meet at 2:45 p.m. at the cemetery.
