Ruth Eleanor Remus

Chilhowie, Virginia

Ruth Remus, sometimes called “Joy”, age 99, entered her heavenly home Saturday, November 8, 2025 after spending days with her girls and family.

Born April 27, 1926, she loved Jesus. She was involved in church feeding immigrants, counseled at Youth Camp; Womens Aglow and CFO. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, participating in directing four generations to Jesus! Toward the end, she loved and was loved by family and the workers at Valley Health Care in Chilhowie, Va.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Lily Versaw; brother, Robert Versaw; sister, Anna Mae Remus; and granddaughter, Julie Suffel.

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Nancy Remus Hall of Salisbury, N.C. and Peggy Delp (David) of Montpelier, OH; seven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; six nieces and nephews.
