Ronald “Ronnie” Choate age 75, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023 in North Carolina.
Ronnie was a true Cat-Bird who had a personality of gold and was so fun to be around. He loved his family – Rosalie said he was the love of her life; and he was crazy about his girls and grandkids. Ronnie was a diehard Duke fan and a proud veteran who honorably served in the U.S. Air Force. His caring way and fun laugh will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Laton and Marie Choate; brother, Eddie Choate; grandparents, Click and Bertha Choate.
Ronnie is survived by his wife of 49 years, Rosalie Choate of East Bend, N.C.; daughters, Christina Marie Blakely and husband, Jon of Madison, Ala. and Jessica Leann Choate and fiancée, Christopher Blankenship of Hamptonville, N.C.; brother, Jessie Choate and wife, Carol of Sugar Grove, Va.; sister-in-law, Barbara Choate of Smith Mountain Lake, Va.; seven grandchildren, Will, Luke, Emily and Jesse Blakely, Tyler Hutchins, Hunter Choate, and Abigail Blankenship.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 1 until 2 p.m. at Elizabeth United Methodist Church, 574 Highlander Road, Sugar Grove, Va. 24375. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor John Roe officiating. Burial will follow in Pugh Cemetery, 1463 Teas Road, Sugar Grove, Va. 24375 with Military Rites conducted by the U. S. Air Force Funeral Honors Guard and Francis Marion VFW Post #4667.
