Raymond L. Vanover age 66, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion, Va.
Raymond was a coal miner for 30 years and was of the Pentecostal faith. When he wasn’t working, he loved being outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Raymond adored his granddaughter Riley; and he will be missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Reverend Raymond C. Vanover.
Raymond is survived by his wife Cindy Vanover of Sugar Grove, Va.; sons, Nathan Vanover (Leslie) and Raymond “RJ” Vanover, Jr. (Ashley) all of Sugar Grove, Va.; stepdaughter, Tara Justus of Lebanon, Va.; step-son, Wesley Lee of Abingdon, Va.; mother, Shelby Vanover; brothers, Coy Vanover, Allen Vanover, Kenny Vanover and Greg Vanover; his sweetheart, Riley Jade; four other grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and their families.
In keeping with Raymond’s wishes, there will be no services.
