Bristol, Virginia
Raymond W. Mullins age 93, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2025 at his home in Bristol, Va.
Raymond Mullins was a man of integrity and morals. He loved God, his family and his country; and was a proud Army veteran who served during the Korean War. He married his high school sweet heart Peggy in 1951 and they were married for 73 loving years before her passing in 2024. Raymond served his community for over 50 years as a pharmacist and was a member of the Masons Lodge. When Raymond wasn’t busy working, he loved watching football, playing chess or cards and reading. In his younger days he was often found telling a good joke or going bowling. His life-long love of sweets and desserts was legendary. He will always be fondly remembered as “Pop” – because everybody loved Raymond - before it was a tv show.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Gardner Mullins; son, Shane Mullins; grandsons, Josh Mullins and Jeremy Gregg; parents, Oliver and Ollie Mullins; sister, Eleanor Moore; and brother, Reginald “Pag” Mullins.
Raymond is survived by his son, Randy Mullins of Abingdon, Va.; daughter, Gwen Gregg (Michael) of Azle, Tx.; six grandchildren, Jamie, Randall, Benjamin, Brianne, Zachary and Ashley; twelve great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Donnie Gardner of Norton, Va.; several nieces, nephews and their families; and special niece, Karen Moore of Norton, Va.
Graveside services will be held Friday, December 5, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens, 5650 Powell Valley Road, Big Stone Gap, Va.
