Priscilla Bevins Pendleton of Snowflake, VA, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, mimi, sister, friend, and dedicated educator, passed unexpectedly and was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the age of 82.

Priscilla was born on Labor Day, September 6, 1943, in Williamson, West Virginia to Clyde and Goldie Bevins. Priscilla lived a life defined by her strong faith, her deep love for her family, and her devotion to education. Priscilla was a member of Holston View United Methodist Church. An accomplished scholar, Priscilla began her college career at Berea College and returned to school earning her BS degree in Food Management and Culinary Arts from East Tennessee State University. Her passion for cooking and teaching led her to a fulfilling career as an educator. She began by teaching Food Management in Scott County Virginia Schools before moving on to inspire countless students as a beloved Culinary Arts teacher for Dobyns-Bennett High School where "Mrs. P" earned Teacher of the Year in 2004-2005. Priscilla’s vibrant spirit and Southern charm were evident in all she did. Named a true Kentucky Colonel in 2004, she also shared her life and heritage through her published story, Mama's Child. She was known for her love for Christ, her love and devotion to her family and friends, her strong work ethic, unwavering kindness, and a delightful sense of humor that brought joy to everyone around her. Her greatest passions were her faith in God, her family, and her hands-on hobbies of gardening , cooking, and canning. She loved to travel, but she was happiest in her home, tending her garden, cooking, and sharing a meal with those she loved.

Priscilla was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Hope Bevins Pendleton as well as her parents, Clyde and Goldie Bevins, and step-father, Roscoe Scalf. Siblings Rowena (Glen) Nickels, Kenneth (Jean) Bevins, Calvin (Fairlene) Bevins, Ruby (Admiral) Blackburn, Evelyn (Johnny) Wilburn and Cynthia Scalf.

Priscilla is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Bill. Their enduring love and long marriage were a testament to a lifetime of partnership, love, and God's blessing. She leaves behind a grieving family who will cherish her memory: Children Kim White and husband Bill, Todd Pendleton and wife LuAnn, and a cherished, four-legged friend "Oreo". Grandchildren Lex (Amber) Johnson, Alex Johnson, Kate Pendleton (fiance Logan), special niece whom she loved like a daughter, Tierstan (Matt) Bright, great-nieces, Rowan and Reese Bright, whom she adored like grandchildren along with great-grandchildren Jeremiah and Will Johnson, and brother David (Clarissa) Scalf. She is also survived by other loving special friends, nieces, and nephews. Including Lottie Lunsford; a chosen daughter she loved as her own. Other family to cherish her memory are Larry Blackburn, Bryce (Mary) Nickels, Pam Nickels, Anita Bevins, Carie Tate, David (Bobbie) Bevins, Tom (Linda) Pendleton, Mark (Laura) Pendleton, Joe (Susan) Pendleton, Barry Pendleton, Gail Bowling, and a host of many friends she loved like family and special caregivers Sue Shoemaker and Rhonda Bishop.

In accordance with Priscilla’s wishes, she will be cremated. A celebration of her life will be scheduled and announced soon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to an organization close to Priscilla's heart, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, online at www.stjude.org or by phone (800) 805-5856.

Proverbs 31:25-31 N.I.V.25 She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. 26 She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. 27 She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. 28 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 29 “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” 30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. 31 Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
