Phyllis “Carolyn” Russell age 78, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Abingdon Health & Rehab, Abingdon, Va.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Roy C. Russell; parents, Charlie and Chessie Sheets; brother, Wayne Sheets; and an infant brother.

Carolyn is survived by her son, Greg Russell and wife, Millie; daughters, Angie Russell, Sandy Enfield, and Cindy Russell; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; six sisters; one brother; several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their appreciation to all the staff at Abingdon Health & Rehab. She loved each one of you and you all made her final days better. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. And to all the grandkids and great-grandkids, Mom was very proud of all of you – and in her words “BEHAVE”.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Fraziers’ Seaver Brown Chapel, 237 East Main Street, Marion Va. Family and friends will gather following the service from 4 until 6 p.m. at the Chilhowie Community Room of the Town Hall Building, 325 East Lee Highway, Chilhowie, Va. Private family graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 2 p.m. at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, 5550 Bagging Plant Road, Dublin, Va.
