Phyllis Medley Daugherty age 79, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at her home, Friday, July 26, 2024. 

 Phyllis, or Momma Phyllis to so many, was loved & adored. She made many friends while working with Virginia House Furniture for over 25 years & finally retiring in 2013 as a supervisor for Scholle in Chilhowie. Phyllis loved her family & friends & enjoyed spending time with them. She loved to read & work in the yard with her flowers. What a joy to know she is pain free & reunited with so many loved ones in heaven today.

 She was preceded in death by her husband, Jan Daugherty; parents, Robert & Lois Medley; infant son, Jan Daugherty, Jr.; father & mother-in-law, French & Blanche Daugherty; brothers, Bobby Medley & Jerry Medley.

 Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Kim Daugherty Shumate & husband, Steve, & Sherri Henderson & fiancé, Mike Storie, all of Marion, Va.; sisters-in-law, Peggy Daugherty Johnson of Chilhowie, Va. & Donna Daugherty Smith of Johnson City, Tenn.; grandson, Tony Riley of Bristol, Va.; furbabies, Rocky & Abby; several nieces, nephews & their families; & too many special friends to list. 

 The family will receive friends Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 6 until 7 p.m. at Fraziers’ Seaver-Brown Chapel. Funeral service will begin at 7 p.m. with Pastor Frank Branson & Pastor Ryan Cox officiating. Burial will be private at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Va.
