Peggy Martin Owens

d. January 2, 2021

MARION, Va.

Peggy Martin Owens, age 86, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion, Va.

Peggy was the constant caregiver. She loved her boys and dedicated her life to their lives. Peggy took care of her parents, great-aunt and many neighbors in her community. She was a life saver to many, and a constant person of hope, faith and encouragement; she’d say, “ The good Lord is going to take care of us.”  Peggy enjoyed reading and staying in the know on current events, music, and news. Her smile and positive attitude – even during the worst of times, will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Eva Campbell Martin; sister, Nancy Hudson; brother-in-law, Jack Hudson.

Peggy is survived by her sons, Mike Owens of Kingsport, Tenn., and Tod Owens of Marion, Va.; nieces and nephew, Teresa Hudson of German Town, Md., Jack Hudson of Okatie, S.C., Cindy Stringer and husband, Ed, and Carol Fitchko and husband, Roger, all of Marion, Va.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery with Reverend Dr. Charles Stewart of Marion Baptist Church officiating. Family and friends are asked to follow the COVID-19 Safety & Social Distancing Guidelines.
