Pastor Steve J. Hutton age 63, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Bristol Rehab & Memory Care, Bristol, Va.

Preacher Steve Hutton preached his own funeral every day. He was saved March 28, 1982 and was faithful to the ministry for over 40 years. Most recently, he was the founder and Senior Pastor of Walkers Creek Fellowship, and he loved his church. Steve was a loving and faithful husband, dad to the love of his life Coreybeth, son, brother, and friend. He always had a smile or kind word – especially when working horses – he pulled horses for several years, and then slowed down to carriage rides. Steve’s last days on earth were filled with pain, but so many family and friends to love him through it. What a missing voice on earth, but today in Heaven proclaimed, “Well done good and faithful servant.”

He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Hutton.

Steve is survived by his wife, Christy W. Hutton of Marion, Va.; daughter, Coreybeth Dutton (Scott) of Rural Retreat, Va.; mother, Charlotte Hutton of Rural Retreat, Va.; sister, Pamela Hutton of Chilhowie, Va.; niece, Santana Cline (Ethan) & their son, Colton, of Hawaii; several nieces and nephews and their families; grandpups, Bear and Stumper.

The family will receive friends Sunday, September 03, 2023 from 1 until 3 p.m. at Fraziers’ Seaver-Brown Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. with Pastor Mike Sage, Pastor Henry Thomas and Pastor Joey Cullop officiating. Burial will follow at Middle Fork Cemetery, Middle Fork Road, Chilhowie, Va. 24319.
