Minnie Mae “Granny” Scott Dillman, 93, passed peacefully at home on February 16, 2026, surrounded by her family, after years’ long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Born October 19, 1932 in Smyth County, Virginia to Robert and Cora Atwell Scott, growing up in the Nebo community.
She was employed at Virginia House Furniture, Atkins VA for 38 years where she was lovingly known as “Granny” She loved bowling, dancing, eating out, holidays, riding on the back seat of a motorcycle, flea markets on the weekends, camping hunting, fishing, and her family, to which she was most dedicated. She loved her friends unconditionally, of which there were many.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Cora Scott; son, Freddie Curtis “Bobby” Dillman; brothers, Lee, Marvin, Junior, Luther, James “Toots”, Hobert, and Fred Scott.
Minnie Mae is survived by her daughters, Mildred “Sissie” Payne and husband Cliff of Dublin, VA, Betty “Bootsie” Waring of Marion, VA, Tracy Sizemore and fiance Cam Blevins of Marion, VA; grandchildren, Ricky Church, Robert Church and wife Lori, Lori Yarber Smith, Bobby Yarber II, Brandi Jo Bowman and husband Brian, Bridget Sizemore, and Ann McGhee and husband Garland; 10 great grandchildren; 13 great, great grandchildren; and many, many nieces and nephews.
A very special thank you goes out to the caretakers, Brian Bowman, Brandi Bowman, and Tracy Sizemore.
Also, a special thank you to Shelia Hill and Dr. Clampett for all they have done to assist Minnie Mae any way they could.
Pallbearers will be Robert Church, Ricky Church, Brian Bowman, Bobby Yarber II, Cliff Payne, and Cam Blevins.
Family will receive friends on Thursday February 19, 2026 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Fraziers’ Seaver Brown Chapel, 237 East Main Street, Marion, Va. Funeral Services will begin at 7 p.m. with Pastor Mike Sage officiating. Graveside services will be held Friday February 20, 2026 at 1 p.m. at Zion Cemetery, 3171 Old Rich Valley Road, Nebo, Va.
