Michael Wade “Mike” Martin age 70, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Valley Healthcare Center, Chilhowie, Va.

Mike worked for the U.S. Postal Service for several years, but he is most remembered for being an auto mechanic and autobody painter.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Martin; son, Michael Shannon Martin; parents, Leroy and Ethel Martin; brother, Doug Martin; sisters, Betty Anderson and Judy Hall; friend, Barbara Wyatt.

Mike is survived by his son, Jason Martin of Canton, Va.; 3 grandsons, Justin Martin of Atkins, Va., Jackson Vanhoozier of Marion, Va., and Matthew Martin of Elizabethton, Tenn.; 3 granddaughters, Kelsey Vanhoozier, Emmy Vanhoozier both of Marion, Va., and Kayla Gilley of Saltville, Va.; great-grandson, Tyrus Salyer of Saltville, Va.; 2 great-granddaughters, Renesmee Martin and Aaliyah Stone; daughter-in-law, Angela Hockett; special cousin who was more like a brother, Charles Bobby Eller; several cousins, nieces and nephews and their families.

Special thank you to Hospice of Southwest Virginia for everything they did for Mike.

In keeping with Mike’s wishes, there will be no public services.
