Michael Lee “Mike” Parks, age 58 passed away February 3, 2023 at his residence.

 

Mike loved to laugh and if you ever heard him laugh, you’d want to make him laugh more. He loved his family, especially his sons and the ones who called him Grandpa. Mike had a heart for people and helped as an ordained minister and counselor at Freedom Tabernacle Baptist Church. He enjoyed movies, his cats, singing, and playing the piano. Mike’s friendly way and big heart will be missed.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Charlotte Parks; sister, Wilma Carol Cress and brother, Richard Guy Parks.

 

Mike is survived by his sons, Michael Stephen Parks and wife, Melissa of Chesapeake Beach, MD and Christopher Lee Parks of Marion, Va.; brothers, Tim Parks and special friend, Dawn of Marion, Va., Tony Parks and wife, Sheila of Marion, Va.; two grandchildren, Sarah Morgan Parks and Rachel Elizabeth Parks; special niece, Alisha Parks and several other nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 7 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Pastor Mike Sage officiating. Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until time of service. Graveside service will be held at Comers Creek Cemetery, Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 11 a.m. Family and friends are requested to meet at 10 a.m. at Seaver-Brown to process to the cemetery.
