Mary Moore

MARION, VIRGINIA: MARY ELLEN WIDNER MOORE, age 75, died Tuesday, March 29, 2005 in Smyth County Community Hospital. She was born May 13, 1929 in Seven Mile Ford, Virginia to the late Clyde and Georgia Hash Widner. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a step-mother, Myrtie Combs Widner and a brother, John Widner. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Louise Thomas of Speedwell, Virginia. Two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Merlie Moore of Christiansburg, Virginia and Roy and Betty Moore of Atkins, Virginia. Four half-sisters, Mattie Riley of Bronx, New York; Lois Lind of Orr, Minnesota; Loarine Osborne and Grace Canada both of Lake Worth, Florida. Five half-brothers, James J. Widner of Alabama; Preston Widner of Hillsville, Virginia; Raymond Widner of Wytheville, Virginia; Bobby Widner of Chilhowie, Virginia; and Dean Widner of Rural Retreat, Virginia. Nine grandchildren, Billy, Bobby, Samantha, Jason, and Joey Moore, Frankie Thomas, Mary Linkous, Chris Shupe, and Corietha Dalton. Fifteen great-grandchildren, and special friends, Brenda Robbins, Lena Newman, and Brenda Hopkins also survive. Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 1, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Mike Sage officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Cemetery in Adwolfe, Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
