Marion, Virginia.
Mark Edward Blevins, age 56, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2025 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, Va.
Mark was born August 12, 1968 in Marion, Virginia. He graduated from VCU in 1990, where he studied business management and finance. He lived in Richmond, Virginia, Washington D.C. and New York City with career moves in banking, retail, and computer programming. He loved the urban life, but Southwest Virginia pulled him home in 2002.
Mark had that outgoing personality that everyone was drawn to. He was joyful all the time, never met a stranger, was generous with love, time and donations to many causes. His greatest contribution was the love and devotion he gave his mother, especially after his father’s death three years ago. He loved to travel, cook, read, go to the movies, take long hot showers with the music blasting, and fit customers at Ernie Sullins Clothing in tuxedos. Mark was proud of his one tattoo and engaged in many conversation about his ink and his plans for several more.
Mark was sentimental about so many things – his dad’s belt buckle and contents of his dad’s billfold, his mom’s (whom he called Ma) original wedding ring, his granddad’s tie clasp. He loved life and wouldn’t have changed anything about his. He owned up to everything he did and knew his choices determined his destiny. He had many plans for the future with his Ma, but sadly that wasn’t to be.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Phillip; grandparents, Blaine and Olievine Dancy and Mary Blevins; two well-loved cats, Gizmo and Culeo; two special friends, Margaret Pappas and Bobby Hash.
Mark is survived by his mother, Judy Blevins; two brothers, Phillip and Darren Blevins; several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of many friends all of whom will miss him greatly.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 07, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. at Laurel Spring Cemetery, 653 Laurel Springs Rd, Marion, VA 24354 with Reverend John Graham officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery and are welcome to honor and celebrate Mark’s life.
