ATKINS, VIRGINIA: MARJORIE HALL ATKINS, age 74, died Wednesday, June 16, 2004 in Smyth County Community Hospital. Born March 22, 1930 to the late Margie Goins and Robert L. Hall; she was an active member and teacher at Davis Memorial United Methodist Church. She worked for many years and retired as an administrative assistant in the Smyth County Clerk's Office. She is survived by her husband, John E. Atkins of Atkins, Virginia. One daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Buster Russell of Atkins. Two sons and daughters-in-law, Dave and Rennie Atkins of Abingdon, Virginia, and Ben and Judy Atkins of Atkins. Two sisters and one brother-in-law, Ruth Dishner of Marion, and Frances and Jack Hudson of Glen Burnie, Maryland. One brother and sister-in-law, Charlie Bill and Mickey Hall of Florida. Seven grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 19, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Davis Memorial United Methodist Church, Atkins, Virginia, with Rev. Donna Hester and Rev. Frank Bauman officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
