Linda Lee “Penny” Dixon age 73, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Francis Marion Manor, Marion, Va.

Penny was a force of good in so many lives. She was a loving daughter and was the apple of her parents’ eyes. Penny never had children of her own, but she was a mom to so many boys and girls during her time with the Boys Home and the Presbyterian Children’s Home. Penny had a wonderful sense of humor – and a smile and laugh that was larger than life. She loved the Lord and her church. Penny paid all of herself forward in life and in death. She made a difference every day. She may have only been one cent, but she was a worth a million.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Garnett and Vada Allison; grandparents, Ira Glenn and Elizabeth Prater.

Penny is survived by her aunt, Polly Prater of Marion, Va.; cousins, Keevin Prater and wife, Rhonda of Sugar Grove, Va. and Sherri Box (Mike) of Christiansburg, Va; two special friends, Becky and Mavis.

Special thank you to the staff and nurses at Francis Marion Manor.

Family will receive friends Sunday, March 10, 2024 from 2 until 3 p.m. at Marion Baptist Church, 1258 North Main Street, Marion, VA 24354. Services will begin at 3 p.m. with the Reverend Dr. Charles Stewart officiating and committal following. Burial will be private in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Va.
