Linda Sue Jones “Susie”, age 71, passed away at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

Susie always reserved her time for the people closest to her. Family was the most important thing to her. She enjoyed times such as cook outs, shopping at Goodwill, thrift stores, and fruit markets. She was the most selfless person you could ever meet. Susie worked in Smyth County for over 30 years caring for others. She was “just a country girl” who always had a Dr. Pepper in her hand. She enjoyed keeping up with extended family and friends on Facebook.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John R. Jones, Jr. and Hazel G. Roark.

Susie is survived by the love of her life, June Kell; daughter, Tonya DiSanto (Tom); son, Chris Green (Amy Jenkins) sisters, Pamela Jones-Thomas (Tom) and Tammy Jones; brother, Johnny Jones (Melissa); grandchildren, Dylan Tuell, Autumn Green, Lakyn Green, Bailey McNew; great-grandchildren, Maisie Grace Green; several nieces and nephews; and her dog, Sophie.
