MARION, VIRGINIA

 KATHERINE “KATIE” LOUISE LOUTHEN, age 94 passed away June 9, 2026 at Valley Healthcare in Chilhowie, Va.

Katie was like sunshine to all who knew and loved her. Some would describe her as “full of vinegar” but she had a very strong faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Katie has finally been reunited with her parents and her siblings.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Annie Gillespie Louthen; sisters, Christine Baker, Georgia “Vada” Kirby and Shirley “Bobbie” Mabe; brothers, William B. Louthen, Nacy Louthen, Campbell Louthen, Sherman Louthen and Joseph “Tony” Louthen.

Katie is survived by a special sister-in-law, Betty Jo Louthen; special nephew, Eddie Louthen; special friends, Barbara Ann and Patty Spencer. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at 2 p.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Va. with Blake Frazier and Eddie Louthen officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:45 p.m.
