Rosedale, Va.
Jimmy Con Farmer of Rosedale, Virginia passed away peacefully Sunday February 15th after an extended illness in Bristol, TN at the age of 77.
Jimmy, born April 6th, 1948 in the Mountain community of Duty, Virginia in Buchanan County. He was a lifelong resident of the Honaker, Virginia area.
Jimmy was well known for his sense of humor and Love for playing basketball. He was a very accomplished Pianist being primarily self-taught with a God given talent, as many will remember him playing at the Honaker Church of God and gatherings at the home place on Sunday evenings.
Jimmy will be received by his parents Marvin and Hettie Stevens Farmer, Brother Dixie and wife Ruby Rose Farmer, Brother-in-Law Charles "Chuck" Perkins and daughter Renee Perkins Yates, Maternal Grandparents Ira and Dora Stevens, and Paternal Grandparents Walter and Rebecca "Ma'am" Farmer in his eternal home.
Jimmy is survived by his wife Beverly Keen Farmer of 51 years and their Son Jared Farmer both of Rosedale Virginia. Sisters Laura "Connie" Perkins, Evonne Perkins and husband Lincous. Christine Boyd and husband Sherman, and Hettie M. Farmer. Jimmy is also survived by Brother Clinton Farmer and wife Joyce all having close ties to the Honaker, Virginia community, Jimmy is also survived by numerous Nieces and Nephews all having fond memories of him and holding a special place in his heart.
Jimmy's earthly remains will be laid to rest in a special ceremony with family members attending in the Duty Virginia community at the family cemetery. Reverend (and Nephew) Steve Perkins will officiate a small ceremony per Jimmy's special wishes.
Jimmy will be missed by all that knew him from family members to the many friends that he had, to his life long career co-workers of the S&S Machinery company of Richlands Virginia. God Bless and special prayers for the family are sincerely appreciated.
In keeping with Jimmy’s wishes, there will be no public service.
