Jesse James Stover, Jr., 78 of Sugar Grove, Va., passed away Sunday, November 1, 2026 at his home from a long illness.

He was born June 11, 1948 to his parents, Jesse James Stover, Sr., and Belvie Ellen Agee of Raleigh Co., WV.

Jesse is survived by his wife, Patricia A. Stover; one daughter, Christina Hurt and husband, Eric of Arkansas; five step children, Kristen Kirkpatrick, Erin Sullivan of Fl., Jason Sullivan of Ga., Mary Moomaw (Mark) and Melissa McClung of WV; sister, Grace Call of Va., brother, Richard Stover of Kentucky; sister Phyllis Adkins and a brother William Smith, both of WV.

He is also survived by grandchildren, Dillan Stover, Austin Hurt, Blaze Hurt of Arkansas as well as Dillon McClung, Mark A. Moomaw, Kenneth Smith III and may great grandchildren.

Jesse is preceded in death by his parents as well as two brothers and one sister, one step son and one grandson.

There will be a small memorial service at a later date.
