Jason Nathaniel Putman age 46, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion, Va.

Jason was a kind, funny man. He looked out for the people he loved. Jason was a man who wouldn’t let anyone get hurt; he was there when people needed a shoulder to cry on or a helping hand. Jason was the light in the darkness he made every day better, he would put a smile on your face just by talking to you. While his time on earth was short, he touched so many hearts not only was he a great father but he was a great friend, uncle, and just an overall exceptional brother, and son. Jason was everything but ordinary he was extraordinary and he will be missed every day.

He was preceded in death by his son, Elijah Putman; parents, Gerald Lee Putman Sr. and Patricia Williams Putman; Sister, June Lynn Andrews; brother, Michael Dwayne Williams.

Jason is survived by his six children, Anastasia, Angela and Anthony Putman; and Aryonna, Bryson and Noah Putman; brothers, Gerald Putman, Jr. (Melissa) and David Putman (Bobbie); several nieces and nephews; special friends Randy Brina, Tim and Emily Metcalf.

In keeping with the family's wishes, there will be no public services.
