James R. “Joe” Cregger, Jr. age 55 passed away Thursday, September 11, 2025 at his home.
He was preceded in death by his father, James R. Cregger, Sr.; paternal grandparents, James & Minnie Cregger; maternal grandparents, Toby & Lena Harris; nephew, Charlie Cregger.
Joe is survived by his wife, Nancy Cregger of Saltville, Va.; daughters, Lori Armstrong of Rich Valley, Va., Jennifer Pakacki (Michael) of Saltville, Va. and Shayanna Pruitt (Daniel) of Marion, Va.; sons, James David “JD” Cregger (Madison Cannon) of Saltville, Va. and Steven Armstrong (Alisha Price) of Marion, Va.; mother, Jean Cregger Roberts of Glade Spring, Va.; sister, Missy Armstrong (Robert) Saltville, Va.; brother, Charles Cregger (Jo Ann) of Glade Spring, Va.; 11 grandchildren, Skyler & Keegan Armstrong, Jaymynn, Paislee, Brayson & Annzleigh Pakacki, Kandyce, Brayden, Bryson, Alexa & Kaleb Phibbs; nieces & nephews, Carolyn Prater (Junior), JR Armstrong (Kaitlyn) & Reva Cregger; great-niece & great-nephew, Kia & Fredya Prater; special friends, Staff of Hungry Mother State Park & Kimberly Armstrong, mother of Skyler & Keegan.
Family will receive friends Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 2 until 3 p.m. at Fraziers’ Seaver-Brown Chapel, 237 East Main Street, Marion, Va. Funeral service will begin at 3 p.m. with Pastor Mike Sage officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery, 117 Sunset River Road (Rt. 620) Ceres, Va.
