James Moses Edwards III, age 67, passed away Monday June 15, 2026 at Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion, Virginia.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Edwards; mother, Mattie Lovina Edwards; father, James Moses Edwards, Jr.; Maternal grandparents, Lilbern and Amy Ashby; paternal grandparents, James and Roxy Edwards; sister, Jackie Gay Edwards; and nephew, Victor Junior Thomas.

James is survived by his sons, Timothy Edwards and wife, Dreama and Josh Edwards and Partner, Michelle Cassell; sisters, Carla Thomas and Husband, George and Loretta Chandler and Husband Johnny; brothers, Oliver Edwards and Ronnie Edwards and Wife, Rita; grandchildren, Noah Duty; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Friday June 19, 2026 at 1 p.m. at Fraziers’ Seaver Brown Chapel, Marion VA. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
