James Edward Bridges, age 88, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2022 at his home.
Ed had it all together, he loved the Lord, his family, and his country. Ed was a long-time member of Cedar Bluff Baptist Church in Atkins, proud Army Veteran of the Korean War, and a loving husband, dad, and papaw. Ed was active in his community, he and Reba were caretakers of Wassum Cemetery for over 30 year; and Ed was a founding member and chief for several years, of the Atkins Volunteer Fire Department. Ed was the welcoming and waving hand from the porch in Atkins – his smile and friendly wave will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucian and Ruth Bridges.
