Jake Hash age 81, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026 at Francis Marion Manor, Marion, Virginia – joining the family he dearly missed.

Jake was a man who would let you know what was on his mind. He was blunt, and you never had to guess where you stood or where he stood on anything. Jake was also a good friend and neighbor to those around him. His story telling involving his younger days was always a treat to hear. If you met Jake, he made an impact on your life in one way or another.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Ida Stuart Hash; sisters, Ellen Hash Tilson, Hazel Carol Gilley, and Treva “Tootsy” Wood; and brother, Robert J. Hash.

Jake is survived by his nieces, Betty Tilson and Karen Greer; nephew, Don Hash; great-niece, Jade Taylor; great-great-nephew, Dylan Cregger; special friends, Dean Anderson, Michael Anderson, Dave Cregger, Lara Francis, Jimmy Widener and Matthew Widener; and his special buddy, his donkey, Slingshot.

In keeping with Jake’s wishes, there will be no services.
