Jacqueline Teresa Garrett

Jacqueline (Jackie) Teresa Garrett, 64, passed away on February 9, 2026 in Alexandria, VA. She was born on March 25, 1961, in Sparta, North Carolina, the fourth of six children of Harry “Jack” William Garrett and Aretta Caroline McMillian-Garrett.

Jacqueline was raised in Sugar Grove, Virginia, and graduated from Marion Senior High School in Marion, Virginia. She went on to earn her undergraduate degree from Radford University and her graduate degree from the University of Virginia.

She dedicated her career to education, serving as a teacher in the Fairfax County Public School system in Fairfax, Virginia. A woman of strong faith, Jacklyn attended McMillian Ministries in Galax, Virginia.

A memorial service will be held on February 28 at 1:00 p.m. at McMillian Ministries, 1205 S. Main St., Galax, VA 24333. A repast will follow the service.
