MARION, Va. Hazel Sexton Perkins, age 95, passed away peacefully, January 9, 2017 in Mooresville, NC. She was born March 19, 1921 in Flatridge, Va. to the late Benjamin and Flossie Sexton. She married Carl Enoch Perkins on June 25, 1949. They were married for 59 years until his passing in 2008. Hazel is survived by her daughter Carla Porter of Mooresville, N.C.; granddaughter Lindsay Reid of Atlanta, Ga.; a grandson Robb Porter of Charlotte, N.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Wassum Cemetery, Atkins, Va.
