MARION, VIRGINIA: GLENN PRESTON MOORE, age 79, died Monday, September 20, 2004 in Smyth County Community Hospital. Born in Smyth County, Virginia, October 14, 1924 to the late Grover and Ella Mays Moore, he was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and had retired from the Brunswick Corporation. Mr. Moore was a true family man, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie and Frank Moore. He is survived by his wife, Cletia Young Moore of Marion, Virginia. Two daughters, Brenda Joyce Boone of Marion, Virginia, and Kathy Ann Sullivan and husband, Bob of Troutdale, Virginia. Three sons, G. Kenneth Moore and wife, Gerry of Marion, Virginia; Bradley Moore and wife, Cindy of Repton, Alabama; and Mark Steven Moore and wife, Patricia of Marion, Virginia. Two brothers, Grover T. Moore and Clarence Moore both of Marion, Virginia. Eleven grandchildren, Preston H. Boone, Jr. and wife, Sonya; Alex Steven VanBuren and wife, Nikki; Melissa D. Hoover and husband, Henry; Stacey Moore; Ashley Moore; Christopher D. Sullivan and wife, Amy; Shane Moore; Mark Moore; Matt Moore; Candice Moore; and Nathaniel Moore. Eleven great-grandchildren, Ryan Boone; Cody Boone; Summer Boone; Eric Price; Coral Price; Brandon Cassell; Trevor Cassell; Miranda VanBuren; Alex VanBuren, II; Andrew Hoover; and Shay Christopher Sullivan. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Mike Teague and Rev. Neville Mozingo officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church, c/o Helen McIntyre, 738 McIntyre Place, Marion, Virginia 24354.
