Glen L. Mitchell age 84, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2025 at his home.

Glen was a hard worker and although he was a man of few words, he leaves behind a lifetime of stories. He loved to work – even when he wasn’t working. Glen enjoyed making life simpler, one example was his apple butter kettle. When he wasn’t operating heavy equipment for VDOT, he was farming, working in his garden or canning. You had to get up pretty early to get anything over on Glen – he was hard to beat. He always had a plan. Glen will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William D. and Bessie Mitchell; siblings, Woods, Alberta, Alph, Bob and Frazier.

Glen is survived by his wife, Sherry Ellis Mitchell of Marion, Va.; step-son, Chad Ellis of Marion, Va.; two sisters, Margaret Phillips of Cali. and Ann Ross of Penn.; brother, Charles Mitchell, of Penn.; several nieces and nephews and their families.
