Fredrick H. “Freddie” Cook age 66, passed away Friday, July 28, 2023.

Freddie worked at Brunswick and General Dynamics for over 40 years. He was a dutiful employee you could count on to get the job done. Family was most important, and he took care of his kids in a manner he hoped would leave a lasting impression of a good life, a church life, and the importance of their salvation and being saved. This world is temporary and he knew his permanent home would be in Heaven and there would be no more pain of any kind. Freddie was saved and ready to “Go Home.”  

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Edith Cook; brothers, William Randy Cook and Douglas Wayne “Doug” Cook.

Freddie is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Danielle Cook of Bristol, Tenn.; son, Stephen Douglas Cook (Darby) of Johnson City, Tenn.; sister, Pamela Jill Brooks (Russell) of Chilhowie, Va.; brother, Curtis Grant Cook of Atkins, Va.; four grandchildren, Mia Lynn Jarvis, Chloe Jarvis, Lilly Rasnake, Zeke Atticus Moore; close niece and nephew, Hannah Brooks and Anthony “Buddy” Brooks; several nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 01, 2023 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church, 1183 St. Clairs Creek Road, Chilhowie, Va.  Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. with Reverend Tim Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
