Obituary

Wytheville, Va.

Floyd Clayborn Whitaker, age 49, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Wythe County Community Hospital, Wytheville, Va.

Floyd was a good man. He was a loving son, husband, step-father, and friend. Floyd had a love of collecting. He loved books, comic books, and guns. He was proud of his country and his service in the Army. Floyd enjoyed making Kendra and the kids laugh; he’d call Kendra at work everyday and when she laughed, his job was done. Psalm 139 tells us God knew us before we were formed, and our days were numbered while there were none. Floyd loved by God. He is loved and missed by family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Bertha Doyle Whitaker.

Floyd is survived by his wife, Kendra Whitaker; daughters, Christine Wyatt and Heaven Wyatt; son, Hunter Wyatt, all of Wytheville, Va.; father, Charlie Whitaker of Adwolfe, Va.; mother-in-law, Ginger Hurst of Floyd, Va.; uncle and aunt, Dayton and Gladys Owens; three step-sisters; several cousins; and special friends, Freddie Jackson and Ed Hagy.
