Floyd “Gary” Canter, age 73, passed away Friday June 26, 2026 at his home in Bristol, Virginia.

To all of Gary’s family and friends; “I’ll be in the garage.”

He is preceded in death by his parents Raymond Ezekiel and Gladys “Nash” Canter; and his sister, Linda Gail Cross.

Floyd is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary Dell Canter of Bristol VA; daughters, Jennifer Leonard and Chez-lee Canter, both of Bristol VA; sons, Jonathan Morrison and wife, Christy of Bristol VA; brother, Danny Canter of Bristol VA; grandchildren, Peyton Turner and Husband Logan, Grace Purcell and husband Ivan, Austin Leonard, Piper Wyatt and husband Anakin, Nathan Leonard, Landon Gibson, Abigail Canter; great-grandchildren, Prudence Purcell, Audrey Purcell, Cabel Turner, Murphy Purcell, Percy Wyatt; nephews, Carnell Cross and Joey Cross; and his special friend, Kenneth Harless.
