Sugar Grove

John 11:25-26 – Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

Sugar Grove, Virginia.

Fannie Rebecca Reedy Greer age 81, left this earthly body on Monday, April 28, 2025 with family at her bedside.

Fannie was born in Grayson County July 17, 1943. Although she worked outside of the home throughout the years at various jobs, her most cherished times were spent taking care of her family. She was a devoted wife for 64 years, a precious mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family dearly, doing anything she could to help each one in her own way; cooking a favorite dish or stitching up a garment, she loved doing the small things. She never missed a family reunion and was blessed to even attend this past year. She also loved her church family and was a faithful long-standing member of the Saint Claire Bottom Primitive Baptist Church. She would cook for two days for the meals on the ground. She loved to cook and bake trying to make everyone’s favorite dish. She is missed more than words can be expressed by her family and friends. But, thank the Lord, we have hope of seeing her again. Our hope is in the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Jenny Reedy; 6 siblings, Carol (Doc) Odum, Ralph (Evelyn) Reedy, Edna (Charles) Reedy, John (Helen) Reedy, Robert Earl Reedy, Ruby (Clifton) Ore; sister-in-law, Ruth Reedy; brother-in-law, Victor Ross; and a very special great-granddaughter, Lainey Emerson Young.

Fannie is survived by her husband of 64 years, Avery Greer; daughters, Diane (Ray) Parks and Barbara (Garland) Brooks; son, Gale (Dorothy) Greer; sister, Mary Ross; brother, Roy Reedy; 10 grandchildren, Steven (Julie), Randy (Katie), Christina (Mitchell), Katelyn (Hunter), Crystal, Greg (Ashlee), Miranda (Justin), Takoda, Robin (Eric), Gale Jr. (Carly); 17 great-grandchildren, Hannah, Elizabeth, Brittney, Audree, Eden, Henlee, Thomas, Rebecca, Durham, Raleigh, Emeri, Rowan, Hudson, Averi, Harper, Violet, Lyla and one due in December; 1 great-great granddaughter, Scarlett; several cousins, nieces, nephews and their families; special friends, Mrs. Dottie Surber and Pam Blevins.
