MARION, VIRGINIA: ED L. HAGA, age 58, died Thursday, September 30, 2004 in Smyth County Community Hospital. Born in Smyth County, Virginia on January 6, 1946, he retired from the Brunswick Corporation after 24 ½ years of service. He had lived in Smyth County for most of his life and loved to play music and sing, George Jones, Merle Haggard, and Mel Street. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Mr. Haga loved to spend time with his family. He will be really missed by everyone. He was preceded in death by his father; Rev. Fred Haga and a grandson, Michael Musick. Mr. Haga is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Haga of Marion, Virginia. Three daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Sammy Musick of Troutdale, Virginia, Joyce and Johnny Rouse and Melissa and Randall Trail all of Chilhowie, Virginia. Two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bobby and Nita Haga and Eddie Ray Haga all of Marion, Virginia. His mother, Pearl Cleary of Troutdale, Virginia. Four sisters, Rebecca Haga of Troutdale, Virginia; Margaret Cregger of Galax, Virginia; Lucy Fox of Gate City, Virginia; and Sarah Hill of Florida. One brother, Cecil Haga of Atkins, Virginia. Nine grandchildren, Justin Haga, Zachary Haga, Bradley Haga, Tanner Haga, Brandi Trail, Taylor Trail, Travis Musick, Samantha Musick, and Michael Rouse. Several nieces, nephews, and special friends, Bobby McGhee, Marvin Crewey, Linda McClure, and Pete Anderson. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 2, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Jody Blevins and Rev. Ronald Tolliver. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
