Dreama Sage Vernon passed away at her home in Marion, Virginia on Wednesday July 29, 2026.

Dreama was known as the most generous, kind, loving, and the most giving person you could meet. She always kept her family as the most important aspect of her life. The sun rose and set on her grandchildren whom she was very proud of. Dreama was also known for her wonderful cooking. Potato salad and chicken and dumplings were two of her families’ favorites. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse B. and Gladys Sage; sisters, Linda Overbay and Carol Buchanan; and her brother Lee Testerman.

Dreama is survived by her husband of 57 years, James Vernon; daughters, Kellie Vernon (Brent Hall), LeAnn Vernon; son, Chad Vernon (Bobbi); grandchildren, Joshua Vernon, Emmaleigh Vernon, Blake Hall, Clara Hall, Iris Hall, Jonathan Barbrow, and Lila Barbrow.

Funeral services will be held Friday July 31, 2026 at 2 p.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery, 4410 Lee Highway, Marion, VA 24354 with Bobby Endicott officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:45 p.m.
