Donna M. Anderson age 76, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2024 surrounded by her sisters, at Francis Marion Manor, Marion, Va.

Everyone’s “Aunt Donna” was well known for her show stopping smile. It was a good thing she loved to cook, bake and can everything, because she never let anyone go hungry and was well known for her annual apple butter. Miss Donna never let grass grow under her feet by staying busy from dawn to dusk doing things such as growing plants and gardening, reading her Bible, spreading and sharing love, kindness and God’s Word “plus some” as God asks us to. Donna will be missed by everyone.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bruce Anderson and Pauline Sheffey; sisters, Mary “Chunk” Anderson Dixon, Evangeline “Porky” Cox, Roslyn Anita Stovall, Karen Summerfield Anderson; brother, Anthony Anderson; husband, ex-Hubert Slater 

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Bryan “Sunshine” Anderson (Amber), Jonathan R. Brown, Michael E. Brown, Stefan “Mar” Slater (Amber); sisters, Deborah A. Calloway (William) and Regina Roberts (Terry); brother, Todd Anderson; host of grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends; special cousins, Richard Sheffey and Margaret “Cush” Cox; special friends, Charlie and Anna Wassum, Mormon Church Family. 

Special thanks are extended to the staff of Francis Marion Manor and Wythe Hospice of Southwest Virginia.

The family will receive friends Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 1 until 2 p.m. at Fraziers’ Seaver-Brown Chapel, 237 East Main Street, Marion VA 24354. Memorial services will begin at 2 p.m. with Reverend Lester Turner officiating.
