Donald Eugene Lowman age 70, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2023.

Don was a talented mechanic who could fix anything – and people brought everything to him. He was a faithful employee of Royal Mouldings (DG Mouldings) for over 40 years. Don loved his Lord and was a lifetime faithful member of Valley View Baptist Church where he enjoyed playing bass for the choir. As a youth and young man, he used his bass playing talent and joined his family traveling and singing gospel music as “The Singing Martins.” Don’s presence will be greatly missed by his church family for many reasons. Including his help making applebutter and molasses, a tradition he took part in for many years after his parents passed. When he wasn’t at work, or repairing something, he enjoyed building motors for racecars and lawnmowers. Don was a humble man who never had a bad word to say, loved everyone, was always smiling and will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Sadie Lowman; sisters, Linda Lowman and Lois Robinson;

Don is survived by his daughters, Charlene Kirk (Joey) of Marion, Va. and Tammy Bell (James) of Atkins, Va. and Kate Lowman (Heather) of Winston-Salem, N.C.; grandchildren, Cameron Kirk, Austin Kirk, Kayla McCracken, and Everly Lowman; great-grandchildren, Jaiden Kirk and Albanie Kirk; brother, Ronald Lowman and wife, Rita of Tannersville, Va.; special uncle, David Lowman; several nieces and nephews and their families; and many special friends.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 16, 2023 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Valley View Baptist Church, 1622 Slabtown Road, Sugar Grove, Va. or at anytime at 737 Mitchell Valley Road, Marion Va. until July 17, 2023. Funeral services will begin at 7 p.m. with Pastor Chuck Stout officiating. Graveside services will be held Monday, July 17, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Slemp Cemetery, 234 Horne Hollow Road, Sugar Grove, Va. Family and friends are asked to meet at Fraziers’ Seaver Brown Funeral Service & Crematory by 10:15 a.m. for procession to Slemp Cemetery.
