Deborah Carol Lee McClanahan age 68, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023.

Deborah was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a Social Service worker for nearly 20 years and was one of the best counselors the Job Corps had. When she wasn’t working or spending time with family, Deborah liked watching her Golden State Warrior basketball.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Joseph and Mary Frances Lee; brothers, Carl Anthony Lee and Phillip Stanton Lee.

Deborah is survived by her daughter, Anica Charrise Gambill of Fairlawn, Va.; sisters, Sharon Louise Young of Dublin, Va. and Marian Lee Smiley (Michael DeLamond) of Dayton, Ohio; four grandchildren, Joseph Keith Gambill (Rosie), Jaidan Kinzer, Janyah Gambill, and Jyseir Lewis; two great-grandchildren, Gabriella Rhys and Joseph Keith Gambill; several nieces and nephews and their families.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Fraziers’ Seaver-Brown Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. with Debra Cox-Wolfe Velazquez officiating and eulogy by Minister Karen James. Burial will follow in Slemp Cemetery, 234 Horne Hollow Road, Sugar Grove, Va. 24375.
