Debby Robinson

Debby Robinson age 68, entered her heavenly home Sunday, May 21, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Debby retired from the Bank of Marion after 48 years of service, and she made many lifelong friendships with her coworkers and clients along the way. She could brighten anyone’s day with her big smile and contagious laughter. Debby was a deeply spiritual woman whose passion was sharing God’s love with others. She displayed this through her service at Marion Baptist Church where she was a longtime member. She loved teaching Sunday school in the children’s department and looked forward to planning Vacation Bible School each summer. She traveled to Switzerland on mission trips and taught mission’s classes at Eagle Eyrie. These are just a few examples of the numerous ways Debby served others, not only in church, but in her personal life as well. Debby deeply loved her large family and enjoyed every moment she got to spend with them. Picnics at Grayson Highlands, and trips to visit her sisters were some of her favorite adventures. She also jumped at the chance to spoil her nieces and nephews, she loved them like they were her own children. Debby was especially thankful for the care her sister Sherry provided during her battle with cancer.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Drema Robinson.

Debby is survived by her father, Benny Robinson; five sisters, Sherry Hester (Gary), Diane McThenia, all of Marion, Va., Lisa Taylor (David) of Bluefield, Va., Sonja Smith (Randy) of Saltville, Va., and Christie Turner (Kevin) of Ridgeway, Va.; eight nephews and nieces, Brent Hester (Sarah), Kayla Winebarger (Julius), J.D. Taylor (Casey), Jacob Smith (Kellie), Ben Taylor (Dakota), Corey Turner Rachel Puckett (Garrett), and Vannah Shouse; several great-nephews and great-nieces; and special friend, Joyce Sexton.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, May 26, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. at Marion Baptist Church, 1258 North Main Street, Marion VA with Pastor David Taylor and Reverend Dr. Charles Stewart officiating. Burial will be private.
