MARION, Va.

Danny Lee Cress, Sr., age 65, died Monday, July 31, 2017 at his home.

He was born May 15, 1952 in Pulaski, Va. to the late Herman W. and Virginia Naomie Harman Cress. Danny had been controlling pests all over Southwest Virginia since the early 80's and was a person trusted to care for people. He was the perfect salesman and businessman. Danny's customers were covered on two "p's"...pests and prayer. If any of Danny's customers had health issues or just trouble in their lives, he would ask his brother Herman to pray for them. He will be missed by his family and his many friends.

Danny is survived by one sister, Shirley Marie Hutton of Marion, Va.; two brothers, Reverend Herman W. Cress, Jr. and wife, Pam of Marion, Va., Jerry W. Cress and wife, Anita of Sugar Grove, Va.; sons, Jeffery Freeman and wife, Payton, and Danny "Chico" Cress, Jr.; daughter, Tamara Ramsey and husband, James, all of Marion, Va.; grandchildren, Emma Lynn Freeman, Sebastian Lee Freeman, Jesse James Kash Ramsey and Frank James Xavier Ramsey.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with the Reverend Herman Cress and the Reverend Mark Totten officiating. Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 p.m. until the time of service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
