Chris Corvin

Chris Corvin, 71, of Pensacola, FL, passed away on October 7, 2023. She was born Christine Walton on November 18, 1951, in Chilhowie, VA. Chris was a beloved mother, nana, sister, and friend.

Chris is survived by her children: son James Matthew (Matt) and daughter-in-law Diana, her daughter Annie Lundberg and son in law Andy, and her grandchildren Emmalyn Lundberg, James, and Audrey Corvin, all of Pensacola, FL. She is also survived by her sister Jeannie (Dusty) Harrington of Pine Island, FL, and her nieces Jennifer and Heather. Chris was preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years James (Jim) Corvin, her mother and father Kathleen and Edward Walton, and her brothers Bennett and Alvin Walton.

Chris had a passion for education and dedicated over 30 years of her life to teaching special education, mostly in Santa Rosa County, FL. She retired in 2011. She was an alumna of Radford University.

In her free time, Chris enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandkids, sewing, cooking, baking, and attending numerous groups and activities at Marcus Pointe Baptist Church, where she worshipped.

A memorial service to celebrate Chris's life was held on October 21, 2023, at Marcus Point Baptist Church on W. St in Pensacola, FL. A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery, Mountain View Avenue, Rural Retreat, VA 24368 with Blake Frazier officiating. Friends and family are asked to meet at the cemetery. 

Chris will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kindness, love, and dedication to her family and community will be remembered forever.
