Beecher H. Perry

d. January 2, 2018

Marion, Va.

Beecher H. Perry, age 75, died Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Wellmont Hospice House, Bristol, Tenn.

Beecher never knew a stranger. He was born in Coeburn, Va., but made Smyth County his home in the late 60's when he became a Game Warden. Beecher loved the outdoors – he loved to hunt, fish and pick morel mushrooms when in season. He loved his family dearly, and that must have been the reason for his contagious smile and charitable heart. People mattered to Beecher. He loved his Lord, and was a regular at Gethsemane Baptist Church. More than anything, Beecher cherished his grandchildren. In his last days, he would often mention what a good family he had. He was loved much and will be missed terribly by so many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Beecher N. and Ethel McGlothlin Perry; son, Nathan Craig Perry; sisters, Thelma Perry, Judy Stansberry, and Lorraine Blankenbecler; brothers, Bill Perry, Bob Perry and Jack Perry.

Beecher is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Rosenwinge and husband, Kevin of Bristol, Tenn., and Shai Perry and husband, Jon Surber of Damascus, Va.; son, Stephen Perry of Adwolfe, Va.; mother of his children, Chris Perry Poe of Coeburn, Va.; sister, Brenda Goodnough and husband, Bradley of Culpeper, Va.; brothers, David Perry and wife, Carol and Greg Perry and wife, Carol, all of Coeburn, Va.; seven grandchildren, Logan McClure, Kelly Perry-Hayes, Colton Branson, Ansley Taylor, Jessica Smith, Stephen Rosenwinge and Jake Surber; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Richardson's Ambulance Service, Wellmont Cancer Center, Wellmont Hospice House and Dr. Alison Whitman for the care given to Beecher.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Pastor Ryan Cox and Pastor Bob Surber officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
